Road trip to Paris

Amy and I set out on the road driving to Paris. We rented a car, might I add the nicest Mercedes Benz I will ever drive in my life. It was a smooth ride. I drove on the auto-ban, of course I had to test out the performance of the fine vehicle. I dared driving it at the speed of 170 km per hour. THAT WAS FUN WITH A CAPITAL "F".

We wondered what it would be like entering into France. Let me tell you there was nothing spectacular about this, it was the same as if we were going from one State to the next. We did find that there were several toll booths to go through a total of about 25 Euro by the time we finally got to Paris.

There was a stretch of the highway that had these decorative objects placed along the side of the road. It was interesting to see this. I think the idea of this is to keep you entertained so that you would not fall asleep while driving.

The one thing that will stand out in my memory is Amy was so excited to see the eifel tower. The closer we got to Paris she would ask is that the eifel tower. I repeatedly told her she would see it soon. I guaranteed her that she would know it when she saw it.


I was driving along and following the directions of the GPS, all of a sudden a police officer turns on his siren, and at the same time Amy lets out a squeal there it is the eifel Tower I see it. The combination of the two scared the daylights out of me. I swerved to move out of the police officers way and had to take a deep breath and regroup.


I made it to the center of Paris without further incidents. I will not complain about our drivers here in the States as loudly after driving in Paris. What an experience.

I did it

I have been to Paris twice in my life. The first time I took a lot of pictures. I lost them due to my pictures being on a disposable camera and they went through the x-ray machine at the airport. That tells you how long ago it was. But now I have the proof I have been there. Technology is a wonderful thing. This picture was taken on top of the Arch de Triumph at night. Every hour on the hour at night the Eifel Tower sparkles with lights.

The reason I am in Germany

Tryston Cade was born March 24th at 5:48, He was 7lbs 14 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. He has blue eyes and dark brown hair. He is the sweetest thing.

Grandma I picked flowers for you.....

Mickie had ran into the post office, Amy and I got the assignment to keep Aiden awake. Amy took him for a walk while I stayed in the car with Tryston. Aiden came running back and gave me a flower and then promptly ran back to get others for me. Ten trips later Mickie was finished with her errand, Aiden was kept awake, Amy ran back and forth, and I got the flowers.
